woody Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 I am looking forward to my new dell server arriving shortly. My plan is to promote it into the AD, transfer control of group policy over and away we go. But after getting hold of LNM (thanks Dox_Box) I am wondering whether to give it a go. Currently our setup works smoothly so I really need to know if there is anything REALLY worth it in LNM. The bulk user creation does sound good, but is that enough for me to give it a go? Does it take away any of the current control I have on the server in Group policy manager etc?? Any comments would be welcome.
Dos_Box Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Noooo. LNM is only good for brand new AD install and cannot be added later. Besides , it is a total pain and is very (VERY) hardware specific and will bomb out repeatedly if it finds something it doesn't like. You should try it on a VM first I think if you want to look into it further.
StewartKnight Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 even then, a VM isn't ideal, as it makes a generic machine rather than one specifiy to your hardware
