Has anyone successfully been able to create and deploy desktop gadgets? We are looking at custom Windows 7 gadgets for disseminating information to computer labs and possibly staff machines. Or allowing them to "opt in" and choose to add certain gadgets or not (ex. college newspaper headlines gadget).

If anyone has any handy tips or insight into this. Any and all information welcome.

Easiest way I found to do this is to add the gadgets to the default user profile. You do this through Sysprep, the Microsoft KB has instructions on how to do this.

We did this so we can deploy the clock gadget to all our Windows 7 machines.
