mdrabble Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Ok, I am banging my head against a brickwall and now have a headache...... I'm trying to install SQL2008 Standard Edition. I can install all features except the SQL Database engine. It goes through the installation and passes all the test and near the end of the installation I get an error..... invalid namespace I have installed powershell, Windows Installer 4.5 and the server have the right version for .net installed. Anyone any ideas on how to solve this?
mdrabble Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Is this for SIMS? Yes, I am planning to move sims onto another server as the current server is approx 5 yrs old.
matt40k Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Keep it simple, use the Capita installer, then put the SQL2008 disc in, and upgrade the edition from Express to standard. So much easier. (You'll need to uninstall all the SQL bits if they've already been installed - might be worth starting from scratch if possible).
