eCAF and wireless

Bit of a warning, especially something that's coming up with eCAF. Part of the accreditation procedure (and obviously good practice anyway) is the requirement to make sure any wireless hardware connected on the same network as the eCAF station must be connected via WPA2 security. This is no problem for most modern hardware but difficult for older stuff. However there are some wireless cards which I'm finding predominantly in Toshiba laptops which cause problems when you try to use them with WPA2 - namely those utterly dreadful bargain basement wireless chipsets by Atheros. The AR5007EG for instance is a good example, documentation and support says it supports WPA2 but it outright does not.

So, if you're got Toshiba hardware, now might be a good time to start ebaying for Intel minipcie wireless cards

Heh, unfortunately I'm not managerial enough for such meetings (and more to the point can't schedule them in anyway) so wasn't aware of that. But ebay/any other supplier of choice - laptop spares places will charge a small fortune
