wesleyw Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Is there a way of adding a local user to an Active Directory Group? I can add members to local groups but I want the local account to have permissions in active directory (e.g. user1@local) so they can access certain things. Wes
srochford Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 No - that's kind of the point of local users :-) You can have a domain account with the same name as the local account and give that account permissions in the domain (eg for mapping drives) but it may be more complicated and confusing than you want.
Dos_Box Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 It would make a handy tool though wouldn't it. A local to AD user migration tool, even as far as migrating email to a new Exchange account as well would be nice. Ray, if you're there, is there such a thing?
wesleyw Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Shame really You can do something similar with Groups but not users oh well.
