Tornik Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Hi there guys. I've managed to pick up a second-hand RTAB910 tablet on eBay, but it's missing a stylus. I know that the original pen was 'officially' a Asus R1 stylus, part no. 04G514000300, unfortunately finding one for sale is proving difficult. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement? From what I've managed to find out, any standard Wacom penabled stylus should work, but I wanted to check with the experts, as it were, before I spend money on something which may not work. 1
Ric_ Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 You could take your tablet down to PC World and wave a Wacopm stylus over it to see if it works. I know my Bamboo stylus also works on my X61 tablet (both Wacom). 1
dhicks Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I've managed to pick up a second-hand RTAB910 tablet on eBay, but it's missing a stylus. I've just bought some spares for an RM Tblet PC off SpireDream Trading: Spiredream items - Get great deals on Motherboard, Serverboard items on eBay.co.uk Shops! They seem to have been around for several years and also seem to be just down the road from RM's headquaters, so they might have some spares floating around somewhere if you get in contact with them. From what I've managed to find out, any standard Wacom penabled stylus should work Ooh, that's handy to know - we've got several Tablet PCs with missing styli, we might be able to use Wacom spares if we can't get the original RM's. -- David Hicks 1
Tornik Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 Apologies for the slight thread necro, gents, but I have an update. I picked up a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch tablet today, but unfortunately, the pen from that does not work with the RTAB910. The Bamboo tablet itself works okay, as an oversized trackpad when connected vis USB, but the pen isn't recognised at all. Under Device Manage in 'Human Interface Devices' I have the following WACOM items listed: Wacom HID Digitzer Wacom HID Pen Wacom Penabled MiniDriver Wacom Virtual HID Driver All four devices are shown as working properly, so I'm assuming/hoping that it's a simple matter of the pen itself not being compatible. Thanks for the tip about Spiredream, dhicks, only saw your update just now. 1
