Problem with side menu and new articles

Hello,

 

I have a problem with the menu that appears on the left hand side of articles.

 

If I select About Our School from the About The School menu, I see the About Our School article and the Menu appears correctly on the left hand side of the article.

 

If however I select an article that I created from the About The School menu, the left hand menu doesn't appear and the article appears on the left hand side where the menu should be.

 

I've looked through the settings and compared as many options as I can find between the articles, menus etc but can't see anything different.

 

Does anyone know why the menu refuses to display on articles that we create ourselves?

This got me aswell when I started using joomla! This is done in the module manager, find the menu in the list(filter on mod_mainmenu) in the setting for the menu on the left hand side you can specify which pages that menu appears on
