googlemad Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Clean XP SP3 install (XP SP3 ISO on to brand new blank CD from Microsoft Volume Licensing) Ran all updates including IE8 - After restart getting this error. It seems to relate to the IE update but not sure why or what is causing it? This is my 3rd clean install attempt now!
maniac Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I'm glad you posted this - I was getting the same problem while rebuilding a laptop from scratch last week. I found it also made IE totally un-responsive. The solution I've found was to install all updates apart from IE8, then do IE8 seperately afterwards, that seemd to work for me. Mike.
itguy22 Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Same Here, I thought it was just us, An install off IE8 after the updates (even if you have installed IE8 with the updates) solves the problem. I also noticed it did not actully update it to IE8 it was still 7?
googlemad Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks, ran every update apart from IE8 then after checking they were all installed did IE8 and worked fine. Silly Microsoft!
