haze10 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Newbie here. Got a Wsye J400 to play with. Previous owner wiped out some of the files and directories trying to save memory space. Now unit won't function properly. I'd like to wipe it clean, and reload the operating system and anything else that Wyse would have installed on it. But I don't know how to do this, or where to get the files I need to load. Can someone point me in the right direction to begin my learning process.
dhicks Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Can someone point me in the right direction to begin my learning process. Is the Support Downloads section of Wyse's website any help?: Wyse Technology - Product Downloads -- David Hicks
haze10 Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 David, My problem is that I got this thin client to learn on, only to find there is not much support on the web. I went to Wyse and found this page of downloads for the 941G Wyse Technology - Support Downloads I downloaded the latest xp SP2 as a zip, unzipped it, but it turned into a push=941g-s54-512.i2d file. Its supposed to contain all the operating system, citrix, etc. But I don't know how to down load it to the TC. I have the TC connected via VNC, I can get to the drive files and the control panel. But what do I do next.
dhicks Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 But I don't know how to down load it to the TC. Sorry, I have no experience with Wyse terminals, I don't know. On the page I linked to, on the "retired" section of the product downloads list a couple of the drop-down options read "Wyse Imaging Tools" and "Wyse Simple Imager" - are either of those any help? -- David Hicks
haze10 Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 thanks, I'll look at that. If you know of any basic educational links I'd appreciate it. I've never worked on a TC before and don't really understand how to boot them from scratch.
