Firefox Preloader: Speed Up FireFox Start Up

I tried this and it does seem faster to me. However there may be a trade-off with the performance diminishing for other functions/programs.

Will it speed up netsweeper to?

Don't think preloading a small program like FF will amke much difference on most peoples system now unless they are really low spec? My quad core i7 loads it up instanatly?

We see a significant delay when starting FireFox. From what you say perhaps another program on our systems is preventing rapid startup?

Try disabling the addones for your FF, mine starts instantly, mind my pc only takes 19 seconds from power on to being ready to use!

In addition to disabling or removing the add-ons you don't use, you could also vacuum your Firefox SQLLite DBs to speed it up. More details in the links below.

IIRC, the last time I used the Firefox pre-loader (several years ago) I had problems updating add-ons because Firefox.exe would remain open which prevented add-ons from being updated.
