BatchFile Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) [/Normal Reality] [Timetabler Reality] I've almost finished scheduling next year's timetable just as I'm crowbaring the last few clusters in, a thought has occured to me: When using automatic scheduling, when trying to get the same block in repeatedly, does T6 start from the same point every time or is it random? it'd be nice to know as it would change my scheduling policy slightly if it was randomised. Cache Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 If I remember rightly (but could be completely wrong) the autoscheduling always starts with a random seed, so everytime you run it, it's likely to come up with a different solution (and so, in some circumstances could fail to timetable things successfully, due to it's random starting point) 1
Sarconia Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Yeah, I remember being told a while ago (I'm not sure by who) that it's completely random as well.
BatchFile Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Either way, it's all in now isn't that pretty?
Sivadam Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) Pretty, yes ....... ....... but very, very basic! (No offence meant!) Edited May 7, 2010 by Sivadam
Sarconia Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Yeah, only one band in each year, wow... I wish I could get away with that!

I wish I could get away with that! No offence taken! It's a small school 11-16, NOR 370 or so, normally a 3 form entry but next year Yr7 is only 2 You get a whole different set of problems with a school this small - loads of part time staff, limited flexibility within blocks etc. but it's done now - meeting with the Deputy Head on Wednesday to refine a few bits where we can If anyone's got any kids going spare, we'll take them - PM me for an application form:cool: Just got an "Outstanding" OFSTED, too:D Fancy coming to do ours now? Yeah, fire over the .spl and I'll see what I can do:rolleyes: (just kidding!)
