Odd Exams in SIMS

Hi,

Historically, the school I am working for has not used SIMS to manage exams (a small special school with <100 pupils). I would like to do it this year and have been trying to figure out the best way to manage exams for which there is no basedata, as we offer Sign Language, ASDAN and various other off-the-track quallies.

 

One of the options I investigated was creating my own basedata files which will alow me to make entries and forecast grades etc. I did this using a spreadsheet with a form and some VBA code to create the files and link them etc. I am having a problem in that when it comes to importing them, my domestic exam board (00 - DOM) does not appear in the list of exam boards in the basedata dialog box. It IS set as active, so I don't know what it could be.

 

I would appreciate advice on this, or actually suggestions of other ways to manage the more esoteric exams, if there is a better way that I am missing, like entering them as prior results, perhaps?

Believe nowadays you can just create your own PI data within the Exams module. Check the documentation for a more helpful answer.
