Little-Miss Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 We have a folder here called Common where staff can store files for the kids to access, kids cannot delete. Staff have full control. Thing is we've got some butter fingered staff that keep moving folders into folders. Twice ive been told a folder is "missing" when its actually been dragged into another. What do i need to deny them to stop it happening?
danrhodes Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Is this on the root of ther folder your talking about, such as a root folder containing the faculty's seperate folders? If so then set the folder permissions for staff to deny and then remove inherited permissions on the folders below, then set the perms you want on these folders, this way they won't have access to move anything on the root of the drive but any further down the tree they will have full access. Also rember that if you set an allow on a share for staff it will over write the ACL of the folder! D
