Can I uninstall dual boot setup

I am using Windows XP and Windows Vista on a single computer. Now I have purchased a new computer, I would like to remove Windows Vista from my older system to new one. Is it possible?

Yes, with restrictions. What licence do you have for Vista? If it's OEM then it's a non starter, you'll need to buy a new OEM (and frankly get Windows 7) or retail copy for the new PC. Technically OEM for the new system will only be valid if you are assembling the system yourself, although IIRC the definition of "assembling" is a bit grey so you could probably get away with a system mod as assembly (e.g. installation of new components on a off the shelf system).

 

Assuming your licence does allow your copy to be used on another computer (either volume, MSDN, technet or retail) then you just format the Vista partition and run "fixboot" and "fixmbr" in the XP recovery console (boot to the XP CD and select recovery console).

 

Could use something like GPARTED or Acronis to expand the XP partition as well giving you more space on the system parition, or reformat the Vista one as a seperate file store.
