Has anyone looked at this yet? There are some ammendments to the Computer Misuse Act in it.

There is a clause that makes it an offense to impair the operation of any computer system. Other clauses prohibit preventing or hindering access to a program or data held on a computer, or impairing the operation of any program or data held on a computer.

The maximum penalty for such crimes has also been increased from 5 years to 10 years.

hopefully it means we can refer kids who unplug cables direct to the police for "impairing the operation of any program or data held on a computer" it might save the teachers some work if they are all in prison.

I'm not sure where common 'hacker' tools like perl/python etc will fit into this

or did the clause get dropped?
