irishpirate2000 Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I recently purchased NSS10.5 for my lab and have not yet found how to set the "show key" setting which allows students to see the tutor's CTRL+ command on the keyboard. Help please?! Also, I continue to have an issue with the wallpaper on a client. If I choose to have it unchecked, the student's wallpaper does not return after I end the show/exhibit. It only returns after the student machine logs off. Thanks for any advise you can offer. Dave

irishpirate2000 Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 Hi You dont want the wallpaper to disappear as it tells the student you are watching. Richard Granted, it would enable them to know that, but presently the wallpaper is a 150k jpg and is slowing down the screen draw.
ChallengerRT Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Reference the Hotkeys: This is an option in the Show Menu. When you begin a Show (ie. select the students to be included within the show), there is also a checkbox on that option screen which enables the Show Hotkeys feature. Ref the wallpaper issue, I believe this is by design - if this is unchecked, the wallpaper will be missing until the session is complete. as long as the Tutor / Instructor is connected to the Student machine and the current user stays logged in, the wallpaper will remain disabled. Hope this helps.
irishpirate2000 Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 OK, got the show hotkeys box...I was looking all over in the settings. As far as the wallpaper goes, my understanding was that once you stopped the exhibit/show/control, it would return without any further input. One more question...is there any way to change the default settings for annotations? I am forever having to change color and width to get it to show up easier!

The default annotation settings are fixed - to change (on the fly), you can of course select different styles / colors within the various highlighting tool options but they will always revert back to the default settings once you initiate a new screen annotation so you'd have to repeat the process again. Not knowing whether this type of issue would be considered, but you do have the option of raising 'Enhancement Requests' with NetSupport by raising it as issue here - NetSupport technical Support 1
