googlemad Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0. Getting the above message every few seconds on a HP Proliant ML115 server running Windows Server 2008 R2. The system disk is a IDE Western Digital 250GB (All SATA ports are in use with data drives), did a check on the disk with no problems reported. Any idea why this is coming up? The server seems to be restarting now and again too since when I RDP I keep getting 'The system has recovered...' message and Unexpected Shutdown Tracker pop up.
ful56_uk Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I had this with backup exec and a sas autoloader turn out to be are sas card. It could be your IDE controller starting to fail
googlemad Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 It turns out the IDE cable was knackered (Had little cuts in it etc). Replaced it and is OK now (Damn tight cabling!)
