Net-Ctrl Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Was thinking for home use so am guessing there isn't anything cheaper in the ruckus range ? You could look at the 7055 dual band wall switch access point perhaps? Thats RRP is £246.00. 1
ericscher Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) The Cisco 2960 doesn't have the following we need, by the way 2960's are L3 as well with the new IOS. Can only stack up 4 Switches with the 2960's. 3750's we can stack upto 9. 2960's don't have dual PSU 2960's can't use power stacking 3750's allow you to change modules By the time we added the stacking modules, plus the more expensive 2960's that support 10GB. More SFP's are needed and more ports on the core as we can't stack as many switches (meaning more uplinks), the price difference isn't that great. "Are you doing your inter-VLAN routing there?" - Yep I'm curious... Have you priced out the possibility of going to a chassis system like a 4507 instead of multiple 3750's? Assuming this is still in the future and you don't already own them... Edited March 20, 2014 by ericscher
ericscher Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Cisco Wifi is awful - hence one of the reasons they bought Meraki (the main reason being the cloud management) I haven't used their controller based WLAN products but I have always found their autonomous access points to be rock solid.

Can't remember if you can get the 4513 but that would have near the limits.
