Position one on the frontpage

When an article is added to the frontpage, it automatically gets postion 1, is it possible to make position 1 fixed, so new articles go in a position 2?

Which system are you talking about? moodle, sharepoint, joomla, drupal etc

ahh yes my bad

 

well here's the solution by way of recompense

 

go the frontpage manager.

 

Find the article you want to make 'sticky' and set it order to -1

 

click the save icon in the order column

 

and now the article will be sticky
