Corrupt Registry

I might be sounding stupid with this, but as its my personal machine i don't want to rebuild it like i would with one of the ones here.

 

I have Windows 7 x64 that the start up repair thing is saying i have corrupt registry, will just sticking the win 7 disk in and hit repair work like it would in xp?

 

as i really don't want to lose my half built website (i have another copy its just old!) that is now sitting on it!!

before anything else it might be worth sticking a ubuntu livecd or similar in it and copying any files you need to a network share.

 

Then give the repair route a bash...

i didn't think of that! i just wasnt sure if the repair function on Win 7 cd is same as xp

No; the repair isn't the same - in many ways it's better because it's almost completely automatic but if the automatic stuff fails there doesn't seem to be an option to do the repair that you used to be able to do in XP.

tar, ill boot into bartpe then get my stuff of them try the repair see how it goes
