Denz13 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Hi all, We are currently running XP on all of our PCs, using IE7, domained and connected to 2 servers running Server 2k3. It has been reported to me that our teacher users are unable open e-mails within Hotmail. After some investigation a teacher can log-in to hotmail, open their inbox and view the e-mails. However when clicking an e-mail, nothing happens, no loading screen, no status bar, no egg-timer cursor. This happens everytime without fail, the only way I have seen to get around it is by refreshing the page. The strange thing is that when signing in with an administrator account there are no problems at all. Does anybody have any ideas?
CensorNet Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Hi, Does the web browser the teacher has access to have the same security settings as the administrator browser (e.g. security settings, enabled Javascript, etc). I suspect it has JavaScript disabled which Hotmail uses when you click a message. Have you tried with a different browser e.g. Firefox / Chrome to see if it is a problem with IE 7 only? Thanks Tim
Denz13 Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Thanks for the reply. I have checked and the IE does have Javascript enabled. I also tried upgrading to IE8 but still have the same problems. I also tested with Firefox and did not have any problems. The problem is accross all teacher accounts not just a particular user, we disable internet options for teacher accounts to prevent them from changing proxy filters, settings etc
