wesleyw Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I'm looking for an alternative to Microsoft Easy Assist that can be hosted internally for the staff and pupils mahcines and also have remote support available for certain members of staff who sometimes work off site (yes I know I'm asking for trouble ) Is there anything like this I don't mind paying but its the hosting of the system internally with something tying into a helpdesk would be an added benefit open source would be perfect. Any ideas guys? Wes
SpuffMonkey Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 For internal remote control - ABTutor - externally - well one of the LogMeIn or Teamviewer products?
wesleyw Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 I'm looking for something that the Associate and Teaching staff can click on for remote support as some of them don't like the idea of being monitored and opt in support package seems like a good idea theoretically Remote Assistance or MSN IM would do this? If so has anyone set this up? AB tutor is very cheap so I think I'll look at buying that for the students anyway Wes
pwds Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 UltraVNC will do the job internally and does have an online support component which looked interesting. I'd provide links but it's blocked by EMBC presumably as controlling home machines will allow kids to browse anything from school.
wesleyw Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 UltraVNC SC I think it's called I've looked at it but I was hoping for something a little more slick? Wes
