Proprosed EU directive on websites hosting videos

The EU is looking to extend existing TV broadcasting regulations so that it applies to web based content too. Our government has recognised this as silly (for once) and is planning to fight it.

The article cites 'video blogs' as an example, but I expect schools using video content on their VLE's, etc will have to apply for a broadcast license if this succeeds.
