contink Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I'm guessing a few of you may be stripping down laptops or have more spares than you can swing a large stick at, so, if anyone has any DDR RAM sticks for laptops (not DDR2 or DDR3 please) that they can spare then please PM me... Only really need one stick urgently but two or three would help sort a few other laptops that are grinding way too slowly (especially if they are 512Mb sticks!).. Happy to trade other bits and bobs as well as technical advice on inkjet printers but school is 150% brassic so can't offer much. Cheers in advance..
kmount Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hey, I think I have 2 x 256MB DDR sticks, they are 256's but I'm not sure if its DDR1 or DDR2. Remind me tomorrow evening when I get home (away this evening) and I'll have a nose. 1
contink Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 Just wanted to add my thanks to those who sent out a PM too... Awesome stuff and very VERY much appreciated.
SYNACK Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Um, probably not helpful as I am literally on the other side of the planet but I have a stack of the stuff, 256mb DDR333 that got yanked out of a whole bunch of laptops when we upgraded them. I wonder if I could send it as a thick letter in an envelope 1
kmount Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 By the power of cardboard and sticky tape that might work
contink Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Late I know but I wanted to say thanks to Dhicks for his help as he's already mailing a load over which is just brilliant... DDR2 I have covered thanks to my own upgrading but I do appreciate the thought... @Synack... The thought of all that memory going through Airmail just makes me shudder but again thanks for the thought. So I should be good to go and have a nursery teacher plus a couple of other classes much happier with a considerably more stable setup and a working smartboard then can finger "paint" with again... Thanks again...
