Hi

I am sorry my mind has gone blank. What to I have to change in Group Policy to see whats happening on a windows 7 machine at startup. We are doing our first tests on windows 7 and a machine that just sits saying please wait for ages would confuse the staff here and they would turn it off.

You need to enable verbose logging.

Computer Configuration > Policies (2008 GPO) > Administrative Templates > System > Verbose vs normal status messages

Hi

Can I do this using verbose logging on a windows 2003 domain or do I have to upgrade to windows 2008 to get it to work.

It's in the same location for both 2008 and 2003. Just 2008 has an extra folder called Policies before you get to Administrative Templates.
