I wants to learn photoshops! As well as the other graphics stuff. However can't find anything @ the OU (advise me if I'm wrong, I did find one that edits photo's as part of a module but thats it)

 

So how did you guys learn it?

Why? What is it you want to do with it? Pick a task you want to get done and figure out how to do it with Photoshop. Spend your money on a copy of Photoshop, you can figure out the rest yourself.

Indeed. I got a 'Teach yourself' type book. It's the only way to go, and at your own pace too!!

As above really. Get yourself a copy of Photoshop and dive in. All depends what you want to do with it really? Depending on what kind of graphic work you want to do you might want to take a look at Illustrator aswell.

You could always check out the ACA certification track from Adobe and then use the exam prep material to learn Photoshop (then if you want you can sit the exam), after all the ACA is Adobe's entry level certification program

Would of liked something at degree level to offer credit to my degree... graphics in general is part of my job and also an interest so would of been nice to learn a bit more about the entire spectrum, whilst working towards the degree.

You don't neccesarily want a course / module about Photoshop, then, you want to do something that covers the basic theoretical underpinnings of graphics, printing, or whatever it is, exactly, that you're interested in. Photoshop (or GIMP, etc) is just one tool you might use to put the theory you learn into practice.

 

If you're wanting to learn about Photoshop from the point of view of it looking good on your CV, then possibly getting a portfolio of work you've done with Photoshop up on a public web page somewhere would be the thing to do. It gives you something to aim for, so you know you want a portfolio web page with examples of X, Y, and Z techniques / features used / art style produced. I think a lot of people use Deviant Art for this type of thing.
