There shouldn't be any flack... Effectively, your employer changes from the local authority to the governing body [as a collective - individual governors do not have the right to come round harassing you etc] and the ownership of the buildings also transfers to the governing body. The Governing Body also becomes the admissions authority instead of the local authority. Trust and Foundation schools will tell you alot more.

In any case, it is generally a guarantee of a conversion that existing pay and conditions get maintained and lots of schools will continue to employ staff in the same way in any case.

Thanks for the feed back. Been getting mixed messages. Some say all support staff will have to reapply for jobs as they restruture the school. Or maybe that's another process.

I assume from that what they might be intending to do is 'close' the school and 'open' a new foundation/trust school without continuation of staff.

However, if the reapplying for jobs takes place, this will affect all staff.

there is the possiblity of some restructuring with the conversion to trust status, though very unlikely.

main change is where the pay slip comes from in that you are paid by the school not the LA. main thing is that it makes it harder for the school to become an academy since it has allready become a private organisation not part of the LA (I think)
