Using Macs on Windows network

HI All

 

We are having issues with our Music macs.

 

The mac seem to have moments where they are hit and miss with syncing students work to the mac and back again. We have got an X server to set up permissions and lock down the macs for students and sort the software.

 

We have students trying to Sync 3-5GB of information when they are logging in and out. At times it times out for students, some it doesnt want to create the mobile account for students.

 

Any one off any help or thought of how they have set up your own macs please

Need more info here. Files are stores where and what version os both macs r running?? Transferring file from where to where?? What server? win 2000 - 2008??

have you tried using portable home directories if they are having to sync that much data?
