Ric_ Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I've finally got my mac imaging problems sorted and the authentication with AD and OD works a treat. I can even control things using the Workgroup Manager in OS X Server... a piece of cake!!! What I'm struggling to find now, though, is how to edit the plist files and other settings in an easy manner. Liks to documentation would be gratefully received and the chance to speak with someone on the phonbe would be FANTASTIC!
Roberto Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 No answers to this I see, I thought I'd replied. IIRC if the experience of editing Apple PList files seems oddly inconsistent, that's because it is. Some of them seem to be 'simple' XML files, some of them are 'compiled' or compressed or some damn thing XML files. On the Apple support tech course I was told never to edit them directly, always with an editor tool. I've occasionally had to ignore that advice and not had problems so far, but I suspect it's still good advice. If you install the Apple developer tools, XCode and the like, I think theres an editor in /developer/applications/utilities
Ric_ Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 i found the plist editor in xcode but fortunately didn't need to do what i thought i was going to.
