Another redirected desktop question

How come, sometimes when a user logs on it doesnt pick up the wallpaper that was set for the specific user? Like i logged on somewhere as a member of staff and the "Staff" wallpaper appeared for a second then disappeared....whats that all about?

 

I'm loving all this learning! I almost feel like a proper NM!!

That will be active Desktop getting in the way.

 

If your wallpaper is a BMP and is set manually, but then you enable active desktop, you'll find active desktop will display over the top of your BMP wallpaper. What happens at login is the BMP wallpaper is displayed at the very start for a few seconds until active desktop kicks in.

 

Solution - Turn off actrive desktop or set the wallpaper with active desktop turned on to the required one.

That makes sense.

 

A couple of things though (stuff i probably should have mentioned but didnt cus you should all be psychic and know these things!! ). I use BGInfo for the backgrounds and there are four. The Admin one which is a light blue, the student one which is a darker blue, the staff one which is green and then the one that sits in the background of a log on screen which i think is the same colour as the students but obviously only displays machine name.

 

What happens is very occasionally when say a member of staff logs in, sometimes it will keep the same background as the idle one....
