Hebdenlad Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Morning all, Just a quick note to let you know that we now have some new S7410 models in the line up. These new models cunningly called the "TB7410" as opposed to the "TA7410" incorporate the new 6 core 2.6Ghz processors! These new ones should therefore be even faster than the old ones. I know most of you haven't bought the S7410 (apart from Chris) and are very happy users of the S7110/7210/7310 but there are more developments for those models too in the future - watch this space. Cheers, Phil PS don't forget the S7000 Discovery Days. 22nd in Farnborough and 24th in London. Look on the web for more details or drop me a line on here. 1
Duke Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Stop teasing me, you know I haven't got any budget until next year...! I assume this and future models will all be backwards compatible, so I can take my current XTA7410 and replicate/mirror it to an XTB7410? Nice to see hardware development is still going strong though. On a semi-related note, I saw this earlier that some of you may find interesting: Electronista | Backblaze gives away cloud storage design Petabytes on a budget: How to build cheap cloud storage | Backblaze Blog I'm not suggesting this as a replacement for the S7000 (no block-level access, HTTPS only, PSUs and other hardware aren't redundant, etc.) but it's definitely an interesting bit of hardware for those needing cloud storage on a big scale.
