rob998 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Hi, I have 3 DC's 2 of which are 64 bit and 1 is 32 bit (all 2003 r2). I know you can't install exchange 2003 on a 64 bit OS. The member server that will run exchange 2003 is a 32 bit server. My question is, is there anything to stop me running the domain and forest prep on the 32 bit DC and it replicating to the 64 bit servers? The main DC is a 64bit server, does it matter which DC I run the domain and forest prep? Thanks for any advice recieved
PiqueABoo Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Never tried it, but the deal is that you run this stuff on *a* domain controller and I can't think why the prep wouldn't work on and happily replicate from a 32 bit DC. Well given that you're logged on as an admin who is schema admin etc. and you've already fixed anything bad that shows up having run netdiag, dcdiag on every DC. Oh and factor in replication delays or force replication. 1
srochford Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Definitely no problem - all you're doing is updating a database and the data has to be the same on each of the controllers (32/64) 1
