RichCowell Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) I've been using xvnc for years without any problems, today it's suddenly not listing any workstations, and when starting it up, I get the message "Sorry - No Windows NT, 2k, XP Workstations found at the moment." I also use NEWT Freeware, and that's not working either... I've not made any changes recently, and checked things I can think of, but can't work out what's wrong... Does anyone have any suggestions? Workstations: XP Pro Server: Windows 2008 Edit: Just noticed I can't browse the Entire Network either... Edited July 6, 2009 by RichCowell
Potato-Peeler Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Have you tried using gencontrol? Never fails me and needs only a server install, no clients. We also use visionapp remote desktop and occasionally real VNC. But i try and stick to the gencontrol.
RichCowell Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009 Hiya, Thanks for the response... The problem is more serious than first thought, so doing some digging... (It won't browse the network as Administrator even on the DC! nightmare) Thinking it's a DNS issue at this stage...
ricki Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Hi Have a look at abtutor its not free but works great and you can deploy the client. Richard
RichCowell Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009 Yep, just rebooted the DCs - it's resolving, still saying server: unknown Not given up yet though...
