Sharepoint RSS from external sources

Been trying all day to get this set up. I have changed the web.config to include

 

 

My authentication provider is not kerberos, so I tried to tell ISA to let any requests from my sharepoint servers go through without authenticating but that did noit seem to work. The web part still complains about authentication.

 

Is there any hope apart from switching to kerberos authentication (which I do not want to try)?
