maark Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Installed sharepoint services 3.0 - server 2003/IIS - set up a team site - got it working ok -internal and external - prompts for username/password and can access ok. But I thought it should go straight into site without prompting for username/password when a user logs on to a machine in the domain or am I mistaken? Am using kerberos authentication - had some problems - when application pool was set to network service it would not authenticate in Internet Explorer even when putting username/password in but would in firefox. Changed application pool identity to a domain admin and ran setspn to authenticate this account. Now works in internet explorer with domain\username login but won't login automatically? Cheers Mark
cable83 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 you will need to add the sharepoint site url to internet explorer > security > local intranet and this will then pass on domain credentials. This setting can be sent out via gpo to all computers on the domain 1
FN-GM Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 This setting can be sent out via gpo to all computers on the domain It is a users policy rather than a Computer policy. Z 1
maark Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 Many thanks - I thought I had done this but the test user I was trying had a different policy applying - - now works ok just got to suss out certificates to make it secure. Edugeek comes up trumps again:)
