Gonk Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Afternoon all, I'm looking for a portable air con unit for a small server room on the edge of our network. Does anyone have any recomendations??? Cheers Ross
laserblazer Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Remember that any portable job will need to vent into open air. IMHO you could be wasting your money.
Gonk Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 I'm already ahead of you The room has an external vent just for the purpose so I just need some recomndations on the portable kit
ICT_GUY Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Get a permanent install done, a lot cheaper in the long run, and only about £1000 all in.
kpms123 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Hi Ross, I would reccommend the PREM-I-AIR PKY12 Airconditioning unit. It is 12000 BTU so would be ok for a smallish room. It has its own built in drip tray/ and full tray alarm. It even has a built in dehumidifier which is what makes it popular with our customers If i can help any further please send me a mail. Regards Phil
CSNM-Carl Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Tesco have one on offer for £49.97, last year it was around £250. It's this one: Amcor AMC10000M Air Conditioning - review, compare prices, buy online I went to pick 1 up for the office, but my local store had sold out. 1
klop Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 We had a portable one when our fitted unit broke and needed replacing (kids gave the outside unit a good kicking!) Anyways, after our efforts with it i'd personaly stay well clear of them.. buig clumsy and the room stayed warm. We had a vent, but all in all rubbish Of course this could have just been the unit we had (was from a hire firm) but it looked as though it should do the job, drip tray, large, powerfull.. blah blah.. but i'm back to being quite chilly with the new fitted unit in place. Anyways.. we found it useless. Hope you find a better model :-)
