Download a Twitter Search

Anyone know a way of downloading Tweets to view offline, I know i can download my Tweets but I want to do a search and then download those tweets?

You know what I was thinking the same thing last night I assume this searching on the moodlemoot hash tag and then importing into what ever you are going to keep your notes in.

Sadly I could not think of anything as rss feed of search would only have so many results in.

I found: OutTwit - Use Twitter directly from Outlook.

 

Basically an outlook 2003/2007 plugin which allows searches and downloads the results to a folder in Outlook. The trouble is I couldnt get it to download more than 100 tweets, mmuk09 tweets = about 70 odd pages so I need it to download much more than that.

 

Apparently you can tweak the registry settings for the program but I couldnt get it to work:

Well got rss into google spread sheet but need to expand the amount that twitter gives back in rss as default it gives 15 results.

I've put together a script based on web tutorials on the Twitter API, its very simple but does the job.

The problem is the API only allows developers to pull back the first 100 results, I've submitted a request to Twitter to be Whitelisted to allow me to return more results. Basically you have to do it based on IP so I've used my webserver IP where the script is hosted in the hope it will work???

 

Twitter are probably on Bank Holiday lol

Dan any chance of editing the script so that it has the users username against their tweet (and even a link to their profile if feeling kind)

I've been told Tweetake might be able to do what you want, but I can't see any way for it to deal with hashtags or other search types.

Tried that it downloads only your msgs and replies to you.
