Hi,

Our server has just started to run extremely slow, also slowing the network down considerably. The only thing i can see that is different is the memory used by the services.exe process is very high. Its running on about 200mb, which it shouldn't be. There isn't anything in the event logs to suggest a reason why. I'm running Windows Server 2003 R2.

Have any of you seen this before and found a solution for it?

Thanks in advance.

I have found the solution to this:

The size of the security log was set to 130mb. I changed it to the default of 16mb, cleared the event log and now the services.exe is down to 6mb.

Thanks for the suggestion ricki
