softulz Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Purgos 3.0 (Open Source Windows Computer Management) was released this week. Some administrators on this site use this software so I thought I would let everyone know. More info is avaliable at Softulz.Net - Purgos 3.0 Release
Gatt Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Yeah got an email thru about it - looks good - though the service seems to have a habit of stalling and need to restart it (usually if i try a refresh or mass install, etc of all PCs.)
softulz Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 Yes, thats a bug, there is a problem when adding large set of computers the server will not properly add them. A fix is in the works but for the mean time you can just add them one at a time or smaller set, 5 computers or less at a time. 1
softulz Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 Sorry for the problem you had right away. Build 211 has been posted to the softulz.net web site. This build fixes the problem you were seeing.
PiqueABoo Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Thanks for the heads-up - may or may not use it, but I certainly wanted to try this a month or so ago.
fafster Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Looks good. Is there anyway to add all machines from multiple child OUs?
Gatt Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 as fafster - its a nightmare to add PCs from AD at present.. even to the fact that it "forgets" what PCs you have selected within an OU..
theforce Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Hi I have just downloaded and setup purgos on windows 2003 and first impressions look great. Well the remote control bit anyway. I am trying to create a silverlight package to install . I am putting \\servername\sharename\silverlight 4.xx.xxx.xx\silverlight.exe /q on the command line path of the package creation screen. Unfortunately, When I deploy the package I get the message successfully installed. However when I go to the machine I see that the package has not installed. I tried creating a batch file that executes \\servname\sharename\silverlight 4.0.xxx\siliverlight.exe /q then tried to push that batch file via the pargos console and note that the package does not install. However when I call the package from the machine it installs silverlight fine. I guess i can call .bat thru the windows startup script (which should do the trick), but ideally I would like to use pargos for software installs/uninstalls as it looks like a really usefull tool if all the functions can be used. Any help would be appreciated. Regards.
