Redirected desktop

I know this has been discussed at length and I have spent some time going through the threads to find the answer...no luck yet...

 

I have redirected desktops (win 2000 server) through GPO to a shared folder on the server, this all works great, users login on workstations and get whatever ive put in the folder. Just to help things out further I made the folder read-only and now they cant add or take away icons...(disabled right click too, that should stop em changing things)

 

My problem is that as well as the icons in my shared desktop folder appearing all the icons in the local "All Users" folder appear on that particular workstation, so instead of everyone having exactly the same icons some have duplicates and some have additional icons. How do I stop this from happening I want everyone to have whats in the shared desktop folder ONLY no exeptions.

I haven't seen the previous threads as I haven't been around that long, but AFAIK there's no setting that will stop the All Users desktop being included.

 

I would either simply clear the AllUsers folder on all machines, or try setting a Deny ACL entry for domain users on that folder.

There is a Group Policy setting (or settings) somewhere that you need to enable to remove items from the desktop.

 

Off hand though I can't remember where those settings are located.

I think that it blocks the all users icons for both the desktop and the start menu
