HMCTech Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I recently just installed the default sharepoint site on a server to play around with. The one thing that is making my head hurt is customizing the site directory. I want to change the default "Division" "Region" "Tasks & Tools" columns to one that is a department with links to all my departments like english, the second to other sites like outdoor pursuits and such and not sure about a third. But I cannot figure out how to do this at all. Can anyone help? Have attatched a mock-up to try and show what I mean.
Domino Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 You might be better off having the different departments as different "sites" set them to be a site each, and you can have navigation between them seamlessly anyway

rpwillis Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Under the covers the site directory is just a list with the different categories as columns in it. There's a guide to customising it at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointserver/HA101065641033.aspx Richard SalamanderSoft Limited http://www.salamandersoft.co.uk Active Directory & SharePoint provisioning 1
