timbo343 Posted August 20 Posted August 20 I'm reaching out to see if anyone else that uses the cloud 3CX platform with Google SMTP is having an issue. We have had to reset the details on the service account that we use for 3CX notifications along with the app password. Trying to input the new details into 3CX and send a test email, we are presented with: "5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. For more information, go to 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials ffacd0b85a97d-482b14d05a6sm13005494f8f.35 - gsmtp" The account we use has been tested on our MFDs to make sure the account works with the app password set - sending scanned documents with the same account work on our MFDs yet for some reason 3CX will not accept the username and password for sending emails. Is this a recent bug with 3CX? We didn't have this problem when we first started using the cloud 3CX platform.
TechMonkey Posted August 20 Posted August 20 (edited) Which SMTP details are you using? Has this occurred since MS restricted SMTP access? You will need to use direct send details, I think. These instructions https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-microsoft-365-or-office-365 Edited August 20 by TechMonkey Add link
TechMonkey Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Doh... Sorry you totally said that 😄 It's the PTSD from having to troubleshoot and then deal with the systems stopping! 1
