SIMS Nextgen + Office 365 / Azure Integration

Morning all,

 

Anyone out there running SIMS Nextgen at the moment and got the Office 365 / Azure integration working ?

Each user has to activate it themself in their profile area. There is no turn on for all from an admin side. See: https://id.sims.co.uk/support/wiki/8/my-profile#Manging-third-Party-Logins

 

Be aware: Users of third-party Identity Providers may not be able to access all services associated with SIMS ID and will be required to sign in with an email address-based SIMS ID account to access those services.

Do they? Please do tell.

Last time I looked at this nearly a year ago there was some partial setup in the SIMS ID management side but i just couldn't get it to work properly.

Owww yeah... HA! So they abandoned an Azure tenant link for individual Microsoft account links.

Yes, sadly it is a mess. Especially if you want to use Azure to enforce conditional access and a common MFA.

The mind boggles.
Why would you not just implement an Azure application ID and let that manage both the logon auth and MFA.

(Unless that purpose is to use your market share to force everyone onto your ID service platform)
