Google & Windows Integration

I'm currently attempting to find a workable solution for our hybrid environment.

Windows across the board with a decent number of Chromebooks. Google Workspace setup otherwise.

For staff this is easy - DriveFS means they can easily access their drive & shared drives and the only "local" storage they have is their Downloads folder which they understand is for temporary storage. If something happens, it's gone and not backed up.

Students however is the sticking point. DriveFS isn't a workable solution without either going down the GCPW route (this means having to use Smoothwall entirely via browser plugin, not something I'd want to do) or far too many logins on a shared PC for a student.

"Obvious" solution is to make sure everything they do is cloud based. Get rid of local Office, doable. Adobe CC - named licensing, cloud storage, doable. Examwritepad we can still run locally due to dedicate accounts, not a problem.

There's a few little apps here and there which might be sticky but I'm sure we can figure those out, but in the meantime I'd quite like a solution where DriveFS is usable so we can at least get the year over and done with as we are.
