Jobos Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Been called to look at an Optoma touch screen where the touch has stopped working but they are unable to say the last time touch worked as it had been temperamental at best. I've been here a year and this is the first report of any faults. I don't know anything about the Optoma screen but when I connect the USB cable a get the normal Windows bleep so at least that part works and device manager shows another mouse has connected but touch is not responding. The rest of the school uses Clevertouch and they don't need extra software or drivers so I assume the Optoma screens are the same. Any tips? The model is a 3861RK 86" IFP
BenQ_Chris Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 Hi @Jobos, I don't know the model in any great detail. But from what I gather it does have an Android OS built in; if the touch works in that it would suggest to a faulty touch port (or the touch has been disabled), if it doesn't work in the Android OS it would suggest the panel itself is faulty and the interactive sensors are faulty (or the touch has been disabled). Another thing to check is that the touch USB is connected to the corresponding port; it looks like there is a touch USB for each input. If it were in the incorrect port, the laptop would pick up the USB but the video signal would essentially be on the wrong channel. If it is faulty and you'd like to look at replacing and would like to know what BenQ can offer, drop me a DM. Thanks, Chris. Senior Technical Sales Manager BenQ UK
Jobos Posted December 3, 2025 Author Posted December 3, 2025 Funny enough I just turned it off and on again and touch started working. Should have done that before bothering anyone, but thanks anyway.
