Hit period drama All Creatures Great and Small is coming back to PBS Masterpiece and 5 for a seventh and eighth season.

 

The co-producers of the remake of the 1970s BBC show about a vet in the English county of Yorkshire have shown their dedication with another double-season order plus Christmas specials. The recommission means that this version produced by Wolf Hall maker Playground has now [surpassed] the original in terms of number of seasons.

 

Season 6 just wrapped on the UK’s 5 and will launch on PBS on January 11. The series jumps forward in time to 1945. The intervening years have seen the Skeldale gang somewhat scattered with James and Helen now living at Heston Grange farm, Tristan serving overseas, Mrs. Hall away and Siegfried struggling to cope on his own at Skeldale, but they gladly reunite as the war in Europe comes to a close and look forward to a peaceful future...
