synaesthesia Posted September 3, 2025 Posted September 3, 2025 Hi all, rather a random question this morning! Just noticed by chance thanks to a glance on Impero that most of the times on the Windows 11 lock screens are incorrect. Not timezone/DST incorrect, but just outright wrong. Simple NTP fix one would think - but logging in shows the correct time, even odder still clicking through to the login screen and letting it time back out to the screen with the time on, it's then correct. Is this a bug, some random delay or something I need to be investigating further?
southhamster Posted September 3, 2025 Posted September 3, 2025 Ooh, another Microsoft "feature." I still it baffling how things that work perfectly since dinosaur times (1990's) get suddenly broken and then just left like that.
synaesthesia Posted September 3, 2025 Author Posted September 3, 2025 Heh, that's about typical, cheers I'll add that to the list of features alongside "runs dog slow on more than capable hardware that was fine on 10" 1
Brummytech Posted September 17, 2025 Posted September 17, 2025 Yeah Windows Explorer crashes, I have had 3 machines exactly the same model, build in the same office 1 will have this issue, 2 will be unaffected - have had motherboards, ram and hard drives replaced, ended up just moving machines around. Increasing Ram does seem to help. Our older W10 Machines (4/6th Gen) on fresh builds with w10 8Gb ram/ssd seem to be as quick as anything 10/11th gen Windows 11 Machine but never mind Copilot may have all the answers....
