ASUS 4gb and T-Mobile Dongle not installing

Hi

 

I have an ASUS 4gb with the OS that came with it... no desktop and no way i can see of looking at the disks..

 

I have jsut bought a T-Mobile Broadband dongle and it doesn't auto install like in XP to get the Web n walk manager on the desktop..

 

How can I install the software..

You can enable the advanced desktop if that's the route you want to take. Instructions are available here.

 

Failing that, you might want to install ubuntu or something similar as I found the Xandros distro that comes with the eee to be awfully restrictive.

 

If you still can't get it to work, plug it in and nip into a terminal and issue lsusb and paste the response back here.

Thanks mate... it all seems a bit of a schlep... I think I'll bin this and get a Stone Mini Laptop with XP Pro :-)

The asus runs XP alright, might be worth getting a copy of the Fundamentals version.
