Enable Information Rights Management setting in sharepoint admin portal

Hi

We have office 365 business standard 3 Microsoft Entra ID P2 licenses. I am enabling sensivity labels. I understand that our access to functionality is very limited.

I have enabled EnableMIPLabels in tenant and but need to enable Information Rights Management setting in sharepoint admin portal ( Screenshot is attached )

 

According to ChatGPT, it will enable Encryption by default. Can anyone confirm it.

Please also advise on its affects on users.
