Koldov Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I've been told to install Adobe Acrobat Pro. Amongst a few other extra PDF functions, one reason was for our Finance/Admin/SLT to be able to create PDFs and request signatures. Now I've installed it, that function is completely missing! Any ideas? The only clue I have is that when I try to run it as administrator, I can see the option behind the log-in page (however our administrator account doesn't have an Adobe account and seems to mess with the log-in so I can't actually access the application)... The annoying thing is this appears to be entirely possible on Adobe Acrobat Reader! EDIT: This came from someone higher up, so I didn't question it, but now I've looked it appears one of the other options (Combine PDFs) is also available on the free 'Reader' application...
Synkrox Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Would PDFGear work for you? Free and much more features without all the nag screens.
mdrabble Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Had the same issue - after hours of scrolling through posts, came across this which solved it. Start Adobe Acrobat DC Click Edit in the menu bar. Click Preferences. Click Language in the Categories list. Under Application Language choose 'Same as Operating System' from the drop-down menu. Click the OK button. Click File > Exit Application. Now start Acrobat DC again. The Fill & Sign option should be visible ontheToolspage Taken from this url: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/request-signature-option-missing/td-p/13291727/page/2 1
Koldov Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Thanks, I'd seen that and a couple of registry entries, but neither worked for me. Interestingly after an uninstall and reinstall, the option appeared briefly when Acrobat was opened initially and then just disappeared within a couple of seconds... I uninstalled and reinstalled it again and quickly clicked on Request Signature which worked until I clicked on 'show them where to sign' and then the application crashed. On restart the option had disappeared completely again... Does it rely on some sort of setting in the Adobe Admin Console, Privacy or Sharing restrictions policy or some sort of cloud storage option...?
Koldov Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 A little less drastic than uninstalling/reinstalling... I just signed out, now when opening Adobe Acrobat Pro the 'Request Signature' option is there.... until I sign in (then it just disappears)! This makes me think there is definitely a 'setting' somewhere and it's not the application itself...
Koldov Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 (edited) Well... it appears that ends my little day and a half goose chase.... "No, Adobe Sign is not included in the Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps plan for K-12 schools" "We would like to inform you that your ETLA subscription includes Adobe Express – K-12 and All Apps for K-12, which provides access to Acrobat PDF Pack, Adobe Export PDF, Adobe Express, and Adobe Workspaces etc. However, please note that the Adobe e-signature feature is not included in this subscription." "For further clarification on your product and its features, we recommend reaching out to your Account Manager. " Although it's a bit confusing as I thought Adobe e-signature (Adobe Sign) was a separate application... although Adobe Acrobat Support put me onto Adobe Sign Support (as they seemed to say without the Acrobat Sign feature being enabled you can't use that feature in Acrobat Pro)... although I thought Adobe Acrobat Pro should have the ability to 'Request Signatures' from within the stand alone application, which we have in the subscription... I've looked in the Admin Console and I can't toggle it on! Anybody able to understand what's going on? Can anyone with the 'Creative Cloud All Apps for K-12' get Acrobat Pro to request signatures?
